Tick Hunting, Really

Actually, we really are going tick hunting tomorrow. Both of us. Because the life cycle of the tick is long and complicated, they don't keep a large lab rat population in their facility. They go out quite frequently to a "favorite spot" some two or three hundred meters from the lab. Apparently, at least 50 ticks can be collected in an hour or two. This is encouraging.

Soon we'll learn to dissect ticks, and I can test the artificial feeder I built.

Oh, and I brought my own peanut butter so I'm not going after Michelle's. And Rolf was right, you can't buy peanut butter at the grocery store. Interesting.

$10 says you won't catch any and Michelle will stand around disgruntled at yet again wasting time on such endevours!

Seriously, Good Luck and let us know what went wrong in the other hemisphere, except for the absence of ticks in the desert.

Apparently, you can flag around campus and get a few ticks. I am curious though to see if they do something slightly different.
